Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions data center engineers, network architects, and procurement teams ask most before specifying a Dromeda part — MSA compliance, compatibility testing, lead times, and how the quote process works.
MSA compliance & compatibility
Yes. Every Dromeda transceiver is built to the relevant Multi-Source Agreement form factor and electrical/optical specification (SFP, SFP+, QSFP+, QSFP28, QSFP-DD, and others), so it meets the same physical, mechanical, and signaling standard as OEM parts in that MSA class.
Every part is verified for link-up on live hardware from these platforms before it ships — not just checked against a spec sheet. Send us the switch model and port type and we can confirm compatibility for your specific SKU before you order.
Where a platform requires it, parts are custom-programmed to present as a recognized vendor part, avoiding "unsupported transceiver" warnings on switches that enforce vendor lock-in. This is done in-house as part of standard testing, not as a separate paid service.
Testing & quality
Every transceiver and cable runs through an in-house test, certification, and programming process — verified for link-up on live switch hardware and validated for data center operating conditions (temperature range, power draw, signal integrity under load) before it leaves the building.
Yes. Request an evaluation unit or ask for test data on a specific SKU through the quote form or the contact page, and our team will confirm compatibility and share spec data before you commit to a full order.
Every part that passes testing, certification, and programming is covered by a lifetime warranty for as long as you own it — no separate RMA contract required.
Quote process & ordering
Submit a request through the "Request a Quote" form with the SKU, platform, and quantity you need. There is no online checkout or add-to-cart — every order routes through a quote so we can confirm compatibility and current pricing before you buy.
Our sales team responds to quote requests with pricing and compatibility confirmation directly — reach out via the quote form or [email protected] if you need an update on a request already in progress.
The switch or platform model, the port type/form factor you need (e.g. QSFP28, SFP+), reach/distance (single-mode vs. multi-mode), and quantity. The more specific the request, the faster we can confirm the right SKU.
Shipping & lead times
Tested, certified, and programmed parts ship same-day from stock when ordered before our daily cutoff — they are not built to order after you place the request.
Contact our sales team with your destination and order details through the quote form or contact page, and we can confirm shipping options and lead times for your location.
