Passive Breakout Direct Attach Cables allow for more flexibility in your network infrastructure configurations. These cables are also copper wiring connected by a single permanent transceiver connection on one side and between 2 and 4 transceiver connections on the other, as speeds of the cables increase so does the amount of electromagnetic shielding around the internal copper wiring to keep the communication reliable between both transceivers. Breakout DACs range from 10GBase thru 400GBase data rates but get significantly limited on reach the higher the data rate you go and support the following form factors: QSFP+ to 4xSFP+, QSFP28 to 2xQSFP28, QSFP28 to 4xSFP28 QSFP56 to 2xQSFP28, QSFP-DD to 4xQSFP28, OSFP to 4xQSFP28.
